PRISED recently concluded an agreement with theĀ University of Toronto to undertake a joint research program into a revolutionary method of purifying silicon to the purity level required for solar cells and advanced electronics. The PRISED team will be led by Dr. Shams-Kolahi and the University of Toronto team will be led by Professor Harry Ruda, the Stan Meek Chair Professor of Nanotechnology and the University Director of the Centre for Nanotechnology. The project will be conducted in conjunction with the Accelerate program of MITACS, Canada's premiere research support organization. The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada has also agreed to make a substantial contribution to our CIGS research project.

Mitacs is a key contributor to the silicon purification project through its Accelerate program.

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has also agreed to make a substantial contribution to our CIGS project. This project is a PV network project between PRISED Solar, University of Toronto, University of Montreal, and McMaster University.
